No.

(home)

In the last 50 hours or so I’ve had 3 hours sleep and committed about 4500 lines of code to the fedws2 repository. I was travelling quite fine, doing my thing, but then, it happened.

Square, dated, chunky, old, frustrating, ugly. These are all words that went through my head when using Windows tonight. Yes, that’s right, I used windows. Sadly I’ll have to use it for a reasonable chunk of development (due to the stupid RTI making me use either RedHat 7.3 or Windows, neither of which I want). Following are some short Windows observations I already knew but found more frustrating than ever in my sleep-deprived state:

-cp isn’t a command in windows
-Backslashes suck
-Not as much as the windows command prompt
-Batch files are “le gay”
-Using environment variables is annoying

Right, I’m off to bed. It’s not 4:30am and I had planned to go to bed at 11:00pm last night. I didn’t. I’m not sure the bed will know who I am considering the last time I was there was Sunday evening.

CORNHOLIO!!

    Err, dude you ok?

    I mean, Tim += windows
Must have … dire consequences. Either

    A) To the health of the poor computer sitting in front of Tim.
    B) Tim’s ever dwindling patience for anything Microsoft.

Well best of luck my friend.
Hope the operating system blues do not hit you too hard.

    Pete

    G’day Keith.

If you want to talk jaRTI, you can email me ( tim $$at$$ littlebluefrog.com ) and we can talk via email or IM (Y!, MSN). Things are EXTREMELY hectic right now, but there have been exciting jaRTI movements recently and we’re very keen to get as much information to as many people as possible!
